"What I want to say is this: - If you logically try to persuade a person that there is no absolute reason for shedding tears, the person in question will cease weeping. That's self evident. Why, I should like to know, should such a person continue doing so?"

"If such were the usual course of things, life would be a very easy matter," replied Raskolnikoff.

Er, yeah

I'm an idiot and a disappointment to all. I failed the proverbial test and am now paying for it. Dearly. With my sanity.
What do I want to be when I grow up? I would very much like to be someone with a spine.
But. Instead of kicking the shit out of myself for the next goddamn week (which I am wont - and so love - to do) I am going to say this: I am weaker than most. Today I am going to try vainly to "let go" and to forgive myself for my transgressions... against myself.
If I ever needed a friend, it was today.

You may well be an idiot, I'll give you that. Idiots make the world a tolerable place. I wouldn't want to be in a world without them, for I am the Grand Poobah of the tribe. As for friends, you have one a couple thousand miles away (don't know how that works out in kilometers - if I did, I wouldn't be an idiot).

Not too clear on the "weaker than most" comment. You seem strong enough to me. You do things that I never have and your writing is eclectic, engrossing, and voluminous (love that word but rarely get to use it).

I get the "who the hell am I and what good am I's" often. Being older, I've learned something to help me cope. I just keep waking up. Works if you're patient enough.

Thanks, god. In a bit of a funk today it would seem.
Insofar as the 'weaker than most' comment goes, let's just say I have a penchant for self-flagellation and if I were to be a yoga pose, it would be "doormat". And hold... feel the burn...
Seriously: thanks for the advice. Sometimes I get bogged down in the minutiae.
I'm also glad to know you're hindered by the kilometers to miles ratio as well!
